About Jeng
Jeng Macalagay is a People & Career Strategist with 20 years of experience leading HR, coaching professionals, and building people systems that work. She currently serves as Head of People & Culture at Actuate Builders, a design-to-build construction company, where she partners with senior leaders to hire well, lead better, and build a culture where accountability and care coexist.
Over the course of her 20-year career, Jeng has led People & Culture at Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, Genpact, ABS-CBN, and Actuate Builders — supporting teams from frontline staff to senior leadership across industries including financial services, media, BPO, and construction. She has shaped HR for organizations ranging from 500 to 5,000+ employees, building people systems from the ground up and strengthening leadership at every level.
Jeng is an ICF (International Coaching Federation) Member Coach. She coaches mid-career professionals through pivots, promotions, and the high-stakes decisions that define careers. She also works with founders and leadership teams as a fractional HR advisor, bringing senior HR thinking to organizations that are building their people function for the first time.
Jeng is also a full-time solo parent to Patrick, a 22-year-old musician who thinks his mom is the coolest. She loves to sing and sometimes writes about herself in the third person.
